Hello. This is Jiku from the Inishie R plusA blog.

Running a hospital may be difficult. I have never run a hospital, but there is one thing that worries me.

Long-term and short-term hospitalized patients are together. Long-term hospitalized patients are of course in a more serious condition and require more care. It requires a lot of manpower and time to be available to accompany them.

Therefore, efficient management is possible by having short-term and long-term hospitalization patients treated at specialized hospitals.

It may not be the nicest way to put it, but by increasing the patient turnover rate, like a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, we can efficiently discharge short-term, relatively low-maintenance patients in a short period of time.

On the other hand, patients who are hospitalized for a long period of time can receive more specialized treatment by having specialized doctors and nurses available.

As was the case with COVID-19, moving to a familiar area doesn’t matter where you are hospitalized as long as you are hospitalized. Even if the hospital is far from your home, you can expect to receive accurate treatment in a short time by being seen by a specialist in that disease.

In response to the coronavirus, specialized hospitals should have been established early on. If that had been the case, the burden would not have been placed on hospitals that are not specialized in viruses. This may be something we should reflect on.
